CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE
Xiao Yao Wan (“Free and Easy Wanderer pill”)
Indications: Anxiety, stress, irritability, depression, PMS (cramps, breast tenderness, painful or irregular menstrual cycles), anger, possibly with fatigue, poor appetite, or loose stools/diarrhea
Standard dosage: 5-8 pills, 2 or 3 times a day with water. (They are very small pills.) Expect results within 3-5 weeks of daily use.
Ingredients: Radix Bupleuri (Chai Hu), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Dang Gui), Radix Paeoniae Alba (Bai Shao), Rhizoma Atractylodis Macroce (Bai Zhu), Poria (Fu Ling), Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gan Cao), Herba Menthae (Bo He), Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens (Sheng Jiang).
Cautions and Contraindications: Use with caution in early stage of common cold, flu, or during acute infection. May reduce milk production in breast-feeding women.

Yin Chiao San (“Honeysuckle and Forsythia tablets”)
a.k.a. Yin Qiao San
Indications: Take at first sign of a common cold, especially if there is a sore throat or fever. Continue daily until symptoms subside. Unlike Western medicine, Chinese medicine recognizes several different types of common cold. Depending on the type of common cold you have, Yin Qiao can either quickly resolve your illness or reduce the severity and duration of your illness.
Yin Chiao may reduce these common cold and flu symptoms:
- Sore throat
- Fever
- Cough
- Otitis media (earache, “plugged ears”)
- Headache
- Thirst
Standard Dosage: Swallow 4 tablets, 3 times a day with warm water.
Ingredients: Lonicera japonica flower, Forsythia suspensa fruit, Arctium lappa fruit, Platycodon grandiflorum root, Mentha haplocalyx herb, Glycine max bean-prep, Glycyrrhiza uralensis root, Schizonepeta tenuifolia herb, Lophatherum gracile herb. – Jin yin hua, Lian qiao, Niu bang zi, Jie geng, Bo he, Dan dou chi, Gan cao, Jing jie, Dan zhu ye.
Cautions & Contraindications: Reduce dosage if diarrhea or stomach upset occurs. Not recommended for long term use. Contains soy.
